BATBAATAR SERGELEN from Mongolia, who took the courses "Understanding Contemporary China: Listening and Speaking" and "Understanding Contemporary China: Reading and Writing" in the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, has something to say about contemporary China. "I want to share my personal experience studying in China," she begins. "In recent years, China's level of openness has been increasing, and I've witnessed remarkable changes, particularly in mobile payment and the sharing economy."

"In China, I've experienced firsthand the convenience brought by mobile payment and the sharing economy. For instance, at supermarkets, restaurants, and subway stations, I hardly need cash. A simple scan with Alipay or WeChat allows for easy payment, making life feel highly efficient and secure. Furthermore, the sharing economy is ubiquitous. I often ride shared bikes and e-scooters; with just a phone scan for a few cents, I can travel short distances in an eco-friendly and convenient way. Shared power banks and umbrellas are also easily found throughout the city."
"I believe mobile payment and the sharing economy have become integral parts of modern life in China, showcasing the development of Chinese technology and the fruits of its opening-up," BATBAATAR SERGELEN concludes.
In 2020, our university embarked on a new chapter in building a world-class institution with deep integration of finance, economics, and law, committed to cultivating a new generation of interdisciplinary talents who "understand the economy, are well-versed in law, and excel in management." Responding to this strategic goal, our international student curriculum system has, over five years of development, gradually formed three main categories: "Chinese + Specialization," "Chinese + Culture," and "Chinese + Contemporary China Studies."
Building upon this curriculum system, the cultivation model titled "One Core, Three Integrations: The 'Chinese+' Cultivation Model for International Students Focusing on 'National Conditions Integration, Economics-Law Integration, and Practical Immersion'"was awarded the 2024 University-Level Teaching Achievement Award.
