Recently, Stanford University in the United States and the Elsevier Data Repository released the "2023 World's Top 2% Scientists" list. Zeeshan Fareed (from Pakistan) from the School of Finance, who graduated in 2019 under the guidance of Professor Wang Nianyong, and Atif Jahanger (from Pakistan) from the School of Economics, who graduated in 2021 under the guidance of Professor Yang Bo, have been included in this list.
The "World's Top 2% Scientists" list is a collaborative project between the Elsevier Data Repository and the team of Professor John P. A. Ioannidis at Stanford University. It is published on the Mendeley Data website under the Elsevier Data Repository. This list is compiled based on six citation metrics, including citation counts, h-index, and hm-index. It selects the top 2% of scientists in the world from nearly 7 million scientists based on their "lifetime impact" and "annual impact." The list is divided into 22 fields and 176 subfields. Inclusion in the list of the top 2% of global scientists signifies that the scholar has a significant global impact in their research field and has made outstanding contributions to the development of that field.
