On the evening of March 29, the"Language Link"Bilingual Quiz Bowl, organized by the CCPC Cross-Cultural Practice Center and supported by the International Education School of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, took place at Beiyue Bookstore. The two-hour event brought together Chinese and international students in a unique appeal of cross-cultural communication.
The competition encouraged participants to form mixed teams and work through five rounds of quizzes using both English and Chinese. When language barriers arose, gestures, facial expressions, drawings, and even improvised body language became effective tools for connection.
The event featured two"Language Link" hint sessions and strictly prohibited the use of mobile phones, ensuring real-time, face-to-face interaction throughout. In addition to competing for the quiz champion title, teams also vied for the"Best Non-Verbal CommunicationTeam Award". Ultimately, the ACHIEVERS team, composed of Zeng Yitong, Xu Yiqiao, WALI MUHAMMAD, and MUKANBETSADYK AYAULYM, won the Knowledge Challenge Champion; the SUNFLOWER team, composed of Betty Dakurah, Chen Shengnan, Xie Xiangyu, and Tsolmon Enkhbaatar, won the Best Non-Verbal Communication Team award.
