On December 19, the 10th “Zueler Alumni Talk”was held in room 615 ofInternational Education School. Dr. Nana Adwoa Anokye Effah, an outstanding graduated alumni of ZUEL and a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Management, Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi'an, was invited as the keynote speaker.

Dr. Effah drew on her own growth journey—pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees at ZUEL and publishing numerous papers in top journals—to elaborate on how to balance academic pursuits and personal development in China’s university environment. She focused on specific methods to adapt to a new culture, build academic networks and seize research opportunities.
Taking her own research in corporate governance, ESG and other fields as examples, she also illustrated how the platforms and resources provided by China’s higher education help international students achieve academic breakthroughs.
