On the afternoon of November 21, the face-to-facetalk activity between teachers and students of the 2024 fall semester of International EducationSchoolwas successfully held in the hall. Vice President Wang Zhengjun, Director of International StudentAffairs Office Li Xiongtao, Director of International StudentAdmission and Training Office Gan Tian and all theIES cadres gathered at a round table with 33 international students from Pakistan, Ghana, Bangladesh, Madagascar, Morocco, Liberia, Tanzania, Mozambique and other countries to have candid exchanges.
At the beginning of the activity, Wang Zhengjun, Vice dean of the International EducationSchool, warmly welcomed the arrival of the teachers and students attending thetalk, stressing that the face-to-facetalk between teachers and students is one of thetraditions of the school and an important platform for promoting mutual understanding and friendship between teachers and students. He hoped that everyone could speak out and jointly give suggestions for the future development of the school.
Then, the symposium entered into a free exchange session. Students have put forward their opinions and suggestions on course arrangement, teaching progress, freshmen adaptation, dormitory management, cross-cultural communication and other aspects. Some students hope that the college can increase Chinese practice and improve the ability to quickly adapt to the Chinese classroom. Some students are concerned about the diversity of international exchange programs and hope that the school will continue to expand more overseas study opportunities and actively connect with overseas alumni. Some students also put forward suggestions for improvement of the college's problem feedback and dormitory management.In response to the questions and suggestions raised by the students,IES leaders and teachers listened patiently, recorded carefully, and responded one by one.
After the discussion, Li Xiongtao and Zhu Yajie visited the international student dormitory. In each place, the staffs and international student volunteers kindly asked students how they felt about the accommodation, reminded students to pay attention to the temperature change, add clothes in time, and distributed masks to students to prevent influenza.
Through the discussion activity and dormitory visit, not only deepen the understanding and trust between teachers and students, but also point out the direction for the future work.
